“SolarAid brings together the best of business and charity to tackle two of the world’s biggest problems – climate change and poverty” – Sir Richard Branson
Nearly 600 million people in Africa alone have no access to electricity
With a solar light everything changes
Solar light customers tell us that investing in a solar light saves money, improves health, makes their homes safer and helps children study at night. Each solar light shining also means one less kerosene lamp, saving around 1 ton of carbon dioxide per year.
#ThinkSolar

He hails from Great Britain, an island nation known for clouds and rain, yet Wilson looks to the sun to illuminate the road forward for the next generation of auto racing and to ensure sustainability for future generations on Earth. He knows motorsports is the perfect platform to show the power of solar energy for racing – and for the world.
Think Solar Initiative
The Indianapolis 500 has been an incubator for automotive technology since its origins in the early 20th century. Now Wilson wants to continue, and elevate that innovation with solar power, proving its viability for vehicles and for everyday applications.
While our efforts to bring solar to other aspects of the sport is decreasing our own carbon footprint, we know that our on track activity at the Indianapolis emits CO2. We aim to fully offset our carbon footprint by helping Solar Aid deploy Solar Lights in Africa. Join #ThinkSolar team and help us with our goal.
